Justification of Ecoregion Delineation
The steppes of the Tuva Basin east of the Altai and south of the Sayan mountains comprise this ecoregion. Ecoregion boundaries conform to the steppe zone within the Tuva-Buryat-Mongolian forest province in Kurnaev’s (1990) forest map of the USSR.
